MASS OF THANKSGIVING to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Cardinal Keith Patrick Brien's Ordination to the Episcopate on Wednesday, 8th September at 7.00 p.m. in St. Mary's Cathedral.
The Draw for tickets took place last Friday in the Parish Centre.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY: Children's liturgy begins again today at the 10.00 a.m. Mass. The primary school age group process from the church to the Parish Centre while the pre-school group gather in the St. Eugene’s Chapel at the church entrance. Both groups are looking for volunteers to assist with this ministry. If you are interested, please contact David Igoe on 0131 467 1449.

FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTION to Our Lady of Fatima. The rosary will be recited on Saturday morning after the Service of the Word.

SUNDAY 5th SEPTEMBER: 25th Anniversary of the death of Fr. Jock Dalrymple. There will be a special Mass at St. Ninian's, Restalrig at 10.15 a.m. The Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jock's nephew, Fr. Jock Dalrymple. All welcome.

AFRICAN LINKS: The Twende Pamoja Trust was set up to support the development of relationships between communities and schools here and in the Kilimanjaro District of Tanzania. St Mary's Primary school has just begun a partnership with Kilema Primary School and Holy Rood has a partnership with Lombeta Secondary School. We have set up a company called Pamoja Art which will sell artworks from Scotttish and Tanzanian artists. All the profits from the company will go support the partnerships that exist and to encourage the development of creativity in young people here and in Tanzania. There will be Launch Exhibition in the Cathedral Hall (next to John Lewis) on Saturday 4th Sunday 5th  September. It will open on both days at 9.00am. You would be most welcome to call by if you are in the area.

THE ARCHDIOCESE Heritage and Arts Commission have invited us to contribute to a project that will celebrate the historical and artistic culture of our Archdiocese. The commission plan to compile a record of the contents of every in the Archdiocese. We are asked to nominate someone who would be willing to take part in this exercise. The Commission would help with training. More details are in the letter posted on the board in the Grotto area of the church. Are you interested?
